Whether you're in full or part-time employment, are self-employed or work as a freelancer, chances are you spend at least a part of your week working from home. In honour of Work From Home week, I thought it would be worthwhile to look at the advantages and the challenges of working from home. Advantages The reason for the growing trend in flexible and home working are the many advantages that come with these new ways of working. Memo informing staff that from June, those with work-from-home arrangements will be required to work from a Yahoo! Office. In the memo, Yahoo!’s head of HR Jackie Reses announces: "To become the absolute best place to work, communication and collaboration will be important, so we need to be working side-by-side. That is why it is critical that we are all present in our offices." Reses adds: "Some of the best decisions and insights come from hallway and cafeteria discussions, meeting new people, and impromptu team meetings."
