Health and Safety Policy

CareerWorx is committed to providing a safe working environment for all staff, clients, learners, and third parties when conducting its activities, including consulting, coaching, mentoring, supervising, and training onsite.

Management is responsible for ensuring that this policy is published, implemented, and accessible to all staff, clients, learners, and relevant third parties. Management will also ensure that all staff have read and understood this policy and that any subsequent amendments to the policy are communicated to relevant parties.

Objectives

All staff, clients, and third parties have a legal responsibility to prevent accidents or injuries. This is a responsibility under Section 7 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
CareerWorx aims to promote health and safety in the workplace and learning environment by:
• Ensuring the provision and maintenance of safe equipment and environment.
• Ensuring the availability of sufficient first aid coverage during courses and programmes.
• Providing comprehensive information regarding escape routes and emergency exits in the event of a fire.
• Providing signage and information pertinent to the identification and location of fire-fighting equipment.
• Safeguarding the health, safety, and well-being of individuals and learners through systematic risk management strategies.
• Engaging with staff, learners, and relevant third parties to disseminate necessary information, instruction, training, and supervision to ensure health and safety.
• Providing adequate training and designating appropriately qualified personnel to identify and manage potentially hazardous situations and environments.
• Ensuring that all staff, including contracted staff, are suitably qualified, accredited (e.g. EMCC or ICF Senior Practitioner or above) and receive regular supervision in accordance with EMCC supervision guidelines to maintain a high standard of professional conduct and mental health.
• Maintaining employer liability and indemnity insurance that encompasses staff, learners, and third parties.

Risk Assessment Procedure

Risk Assessments will be carried out by the Designated Health and Safety Officer or a suitably trained representative for all relevant activities/venues. The risk assessment procedure is:

Action 1: Risks identified are recorded onto the Risk Assessment Record and made available to relevant staff.
Action 2: Controls put in place to minimise the identified risks.
Action 3: Risk Assessment Records to be kept for a minimum of two years.

Once the risk assessment form has been completed, it should be returned to the Designated Health and Safety Officer before any activities take place onsite.
